Family

Dimo’s is named after my Grandmother, Grace Dimo Miriello. My first memories are with her in New Jersey in her kitchen feeding me Sunday gravy and manicotti while scratching my back. For me, food has always been a nurturing love language. It’s a gathering place for nostalgia and warm memories.

Dimo’s is a passion project born out of necessity. We opened, in the fiery pits of the pandemic, the same week my son, Charles, was born. Unemployed and unsure of what the future held, I knew finding a way to provide for my family, the only way I’ve known how, and fighting through the fears of it all, was the only way forward. With luck, a ton of heart, hard work, and sweat equity, this Pizzeria has truly delivered an entire community into our arms and we’ve been growing and flying ever since.

Dimo’s is a new haven style pizzeria. The intention of our Apizza (AH-BEETS) is to emulate the famous coal ovens of New Haven by using two ovens (electric deck & wood fire) to create a well baked charred crispy pie that is synonymous with the New Haven Style.

Growing up in Connecticut, my family would constantly make the pilgrimage to Wooster street and wait sometimes hours to eat these unforgettable pies.

Bringing Portlanders my spin on a taste of home has always been the main goal here. We focus on making everything we can in house using quality local ingredients, seasonal vegetables, and just well executed technique to deliver the best pizza, pasta, salads, vegetables and sandwiches we possibly can.

There is an east-coast vibe to the joint, with a lot of our menu taking inspiration from childhood favorites. A small, well curated European leaning wine list, a rotating local beer list as well as curated cocktails & amaro’s round out our menu.

This is a fast-casual establishment focused on attentive counter service and food that exceeds expectations. Dimo’s is a community hub for any and everyone and is our dream come true of serving our community, making people happy and creating memories through our product.
